Rearranging the furniture...

Ok, cool. Apart from the links page which I'll get to tomorrow some time, I think that's about it.

That last redesign was more of a stepping stone to where we are now. Both technically and visually. It was ok, but it just looked a bit cluttered. But now. Now things just feel right. We have a wicked-cool rotating image thing at the top, we have more funky pink-fade-to-white things going on, and Kinki has spent ages making the image gallery all organized and ready for your viewing pleasure (and much easier to update from now on, meaning more updates! Well, maybe).

The pages don't validate as valid xhtml anymore, but that shoud just be a bit of tinkering (hopefully). When customizing the Gallery program I gave up trying to get rid of all the tables, there are so many of them. They're staying right where they are.

There are bound to still be some glitches. Leave a comment if you beat Kinki at finding anything that looks strange.

Now, I'll look at opinios. No, really.

Enjoy!

He he. A couple of things look strange. There doesn't appear to be our sexy banner anymore and the comments go to some weird arse stuff. Nothing a bit of the ol' tinkering can't fix, but.

The banner thing looks fine in Mozilla by the way, just not IE. But when you click on comments in both browsers it doesn't go to the new format, just the old white no-frills screen. Oh! Good morning, by the way.

Hmm? What are you talking about? Looks fine to me (nobody saw that, did they?)

wow, matty mcg you freakin legend, you got the gallery page looking so damn uncluttered. do you reckon i could borrow you for a weekend of tinkering on frangipani? i hate the way my gallery page looks, so damn cluttered but i just don't have the energy for it right now!

Once I have given my own neglected site an overhaul I am happy to go to town on yours Frangipani!

Magain, you are a very funny tripper. Now, back on your pills!

Posted by: Kinki at February 3, 2004 12:22 PM

Wow, that looks great. Almost makes me want to redesign my own site - shame I'm so bloody lazy...

My site sucks. Hee.

Oooooo, this is looking good. Must say, I prefer the plain deep-red/purple background colour to the one that had the little '35's in it.

Good to see you did get rid of the lovely kimono pattern as the top image (its just rotated onto that one (^_^) )

Gallery is looking fecking ace as well.
How easy is it to install 'Gallery'?

Thats it. I MUST some decent hosting and sort out a proper website with my pics on it (my Japan hol pics are on the rather yukky Sony Imagestation)

Grrrr. Typo in my post (guess I should have checked it before posting (^_-)

What I meant to say was
"Good to see you DIDN'T get rid of the lovely kimono pattern as the top image (its just rotated onto that one (^_^) )"

Ah! I was about to have the biggest tantie at you, Gavin along the lines of "what's wrong with me bloomin' picture then"? Yeah, I'm definitely very happy with the revolving images.

Glad you guys like the new look!

just noticed that funny things happen when you click on the links on the left hand side with the month on, eg February 2004.
More work for the hard-working webmaster...

Posted by: Gary at February 4, 2004 04:02 PM

Ugh! Yuk! Hmmmmm, webmaster, webmaster, whereforeart thou, my webmaster?

Thanks for letting us know Gary - much appreciated!

Posted by: Kinki at February 4, 2004 05:05 PM

Akh! Honestly, all this stuff was working just before I released it. And then at the last minute I accidentally rolled the mouse wheel and a whole bunch of files got transferred without me knowing what was going on...

Anyway, easy fixed. Thanks Gary. There is also a small screen painting issue in Mozilla (scroll down and back up again and it fixes itself!) but this doesn't happen in IE so I'll look into it... err.. someday.

You can take a horse to the water but you cannot make him drink. (c)
