When worlds collide
My delicious friend, Princess Pink has gone and got herself engage-d to the ever delightful Daz. Good to see they took a leaf out of the Kinki and McG book and decided on a beach wedding. 'Cept the imps are going with a tropical THAILAND wedding, the little thieving buggers. Psheldhft. Don't they, like, totally know the whole beach wedding concept is so, like, May 2004...
In other news, my humble employer hasn't even made me a permanent employee yet, and they're giving me extra jobs. Like, half an ex-employee's workload. "Here ya go, Kinki, have another half a job!" Not that I mind - I'm now doing intranet development and internal communications so both very nice jobbies thanks very much, I'll take them.
What I won't take is my domestic bliss being hung, drawn and quartered. Husband has pissed off to Sydney for a few days and whilst the peace (did I say that?) is wunderbar, I have to deal with domestic crises on my own...
I came home today to find our bedroom roof leaking. "Ah-ha!" I hear the locals cry - "but it hasn't rained in Melbourne for a week! It's 26 degrees and the sun is shining! How could it be, Kinki, how could it be?" It could be that our upstairs neighbours decided to drown themselves in washing machine water. They've just moved in and I'm fairly certain they'll be sleeping in the wet patch for quite a few days.
Can't wait for husband to come home and fix everything. I am useless wife. Useless.

Beautiful photo, love! Thanks for the beach wedding idea!! Let's hope I don't become a useless wife :P
Ah Kat, a photo is only as beautiful as its subjects...
Yaay for Sydney! anyway leaking roofs are n't fun! Especially when you wake up one morning, walk into your kitchen and find the leak is through the kitchen light and the light is turned on! oh and there is a huge pool of water beneath the leaking switched on light. I hope you rest peacefully with a leak in your room, that could be really annoying!
Here is a "water palace" (~"Wasserschloss") story to make your day: We moved into our flat here in the middle of Germany 12 years ago. After a year or so we found out that all (and I mean ALL) the water pipes were copper, unprofessionally done and prone to get leaks. MACRO:REPLACE ( "prone to" with "will certainly" ) END:MACRO. We have had about 7 or 10 burst water pipes - I forget. Each time, some part of the house and flat is knocked down, tiles destroyed (with great pleasure on the part of the workmen), we wait like that for a few days to weeks, then back to normal life.
Since summer, the complete basement has been floating on water. The leak was found and fixed, now the basement is waiting to dry in a dug-up condition until the floor can be done again. I would send/post some pictures but they are too horrible to look at :-)
That useless wife bit made me giggle. *GIGGLE*
Help! 23:00 at night and the kitchen sink is clogged up. Old Number One makes me put on the rubber gloves and dive in up to my elbows - No use, still have to call the 24-hour emergency plumbing service. Stop the world, I wanna get off!
