Sorta Sisters
28 January 2008, 08:13
When you see your daughter and their friends every day or week, you just don’t notice how much they’re growing. Until you look at old photos. It’s almost sad to think that Scout now has such a thing as “old photos”.
This is Scout with her “sorta-sister” Georgia – Little Scout doesn’t have a sister and Georgia has one (Looby-Lou), so Georgia and Looby seem to have adopted Scout as one of their sister-peeps. Their mummy is one of my best friends and we try to see them every week.
Their mummy Roz and I have had our ups and downs – we’ve lived together twice (with varying success) and we used to be unhinged (note the word “used to” though Husbands may beg to differ) and crazy mixed-up party girls (A bit like our daughters, really). We will always be in each other’s lives, even if one of us manages to piss the other off for whatever reason and friends like that are hard to come by. I have a couple of close chick-friends who I consider in this league and I treasure them every day, even though we don’t get to see them that often.
Golly, this post was meant to be about my little girl growing up and I seem to have waxed lyrical about friendship. Pardon moi.

Spot the Difference: Kinki and Roz in ‘99 Pissed to the Hilt!

Kinki and Roz in ‘05 – Pregnant to the hilt!
We might all get older, greyer, cut an admirably wrinkly jib, but we will always, ALWAYS love a good party.
[I won’t recap Scout’s Second Birthday Party in any detail – you can read all about it at Wrigglepot ]
